Sinematek Restoration
Close

At Sinematek/Sinema Evi, our film restoration project—one to which we attach great importance—continues with the support of Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi.

Following our first restored film, A Season in Hakkâri (1983, Erden Kıral), and the second, Aysel, the Daughter of the Swamp House (1935, Muhsin Ertuğrul), our third restoration is Drakula İstanbul’da (1953, Mehmet Muhtar).

An exhibition dedicated to the film and its restoration process—coordinated by Suna Altan and Sezin Özakıncı, with exhibition design by Kerem Yaman—can be visited free of charge throughout the program period, every day except Mondays. We extend our sincere thanks to Serdar Soydan and Ali Can Sekmeç for their contributions to the exhibition.

We would also like to thank our partners throughout the restoration process: Atlas Post Production; the Prof. Sami Şekeroğlu Cinema–Television Research and Application Center at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University; and the film’s rights holders Zekeriya T. Kurtuluş, Murat Duru (Murat Film), and Melike Demirağ.
