The World Cinema Project (WCP), an initiative of The Film Foundation founded by world-renowned director Martin Scorsese, was launched to preserve, restore, and re-release films by significant directors from world cinema that have not received sufficient visibility. Since 2007, 70 films from various regions, some on the brink of being forgotten, have been reunited with their audiences.
Between April and July, Sinematek/Sinema Evi is featuring a selection of five films in its program -all restored as part of this important project- that have reached only a limited audience in their respective countries but are invaluable to film history.
