May Fools recounts the events of May 1968 from an unexpected perspective, weaving a unique blend of humor and tension through the ups and downs of family relationships. Milou, who lives with his mother in a rural home in France, is a contented, unassuming man who finds joy in country life. However, a sudden loss will disrupt this peaceful existence. All family members rush home. For relatives with vastly different worldviews and lifestyles, this gathering turns into a confrontation; meanwhile, the events sparked by student protests in France trigger a nationwide reckoning.
