The Man Who Knew Too Much begins with Dr. Ben McKenna, who travels to Morocco on vacation with his son and his wife Jo, a former celebrated singer. During their journey, the couple encounters a mysterious Frenchman who offers them assistance. While visiting a marketplace, they witness his assassination. The words he whispers into Ben’s ear with his dying breath plunge the family into a breathless struggle.
A remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1934 film of the same title, The Man Who Knew Too Much stands out for its use of music, with the London Symphony Orchestra sustaining suspense from the very beginning. Doris Day’s performance of the song “Que Sera, Sera,” long etched in the memory of cinema audiences, won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1956.
